Vlada Alaytseva was born and raised to the age of 11 in Uzbekistan, one of the former republics of the Soviet Union. From a young age she excelled in academics and as a small child was placed into an Accelerated Academics Institute for the gifted. After coming to the United States in 1997 it did not take long for Ms. Alaytseva to overcome the language barrier, and before the year’s end she was placed in the Talented and Gifted program. This small step inspired Ms. Alaytseva and she was accepted to a Montessori Academy in Dallas for the following two years where her talents were harbored and encouraged.
The decision to pursue her music (classical piano) education further was cultivated by her educators and the natural path of development after receiving an education at the Academy. Ms. Alaytseva was accepted to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in the Art district in Down Town Dallas. She has spent the next four years completely surrounded by artists form a wide spectrum of artistic fields and only the best instructors. Ms. Alaytseva was trained in music composition, performance, music theory and different cultural ensembles such as Latin and Jazz studies. At the school students were encouraged to explore other art forms outside of their primary study and Vlada took the opportunity by involving herself in various visual art classes.
Ms. Alaytseva gained her experience educating children and knowledge of various pedagogical methods through her work as a substitute teacher at Hilltop Montessori. She has taken her knowledge further by working with Knowledge Learning Corporation for the Champions after-school program at Roanoke Elementary school.
At UNT she has involved herself in the community through her dedication to the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and captained the North Texas Women’s team during her senior year, this experience has allowed her to travel and create a network throughout the nation. A a recent graduate with a BA in International Studies with a primary concentration in Politics and Diplomacy and secondary in Development Studies, as well as a double minor in Peace Studies and in Russian, Ms. Alaytseva understands the growing global demands of technological advancements and the importance of such education on the new generations.
